Alon Shabo, a pastry chef renowned for his meticulously made pastries and desserts, opened his first concept store, offering his freshly baked pastries along selected design items. A unique project in which the space, the branding and the products, all correspond a coherent aesthetic vision. This required creating an individual and refined brand identity through a visual language composed of a delicate layering of materials and textures, and a precise color palette.
The space echoes the honest approach in which the client supports; bare materials as concrete and stainless steel along visible infrastructure elements, all create a clean and straightforward feel. Transparent glass allows a clear view of the preparation and production area.
The design aims to reflect a raw and minimalist aesthetic, but also to allow a soft and inviting scale, by dividing the space to smaller geometric areas and volumes. Custom designed fixtures as shelving and surfaces were made for this project.
Key features are a grooved concrete wall that creates a background and conceals the restroom, and perforated powder-coated steel boxes and shelves, picking up a bright color from the store’s packaging and contrasting with the muted tones of the walls and ceiling.
