This apartment was gut renovated for a couple who aimed to maximize their use of the space, yet maintain a clean and spacious environment.
To accommodate the clients’ wish for an open and bright living area, the studio focused on rearranging the plan in such a manner that seamlessly conceals the bedroom and bathroom behind joinery walls; These create spatial partitions as well as discreet storage units in the heart a compact space. The decision of placing the bathroom in the centre of the apartment, exposed the wide windows and created a central cubic volume dividing the various common areas without actual divisions.   
In aim to re-introduce a feeling of calmness and continuity into a space that was cluttered and dense, a light color palette was chosen for the joinery elements, with custom made brass details. Natural light functions as a material, penetrating delicately through the space, gradually marking the transition from common areas to private ones. Greenery compensates for the lack of direct sunlight in the bathroom area. Warm earthy tones were chosen to add balance and texture through natural hardwood flooring and terracotta colored furniture.
